Lead Electrician – Solar Installation

Pay: $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime as project needs require
Location: Front Royal, VA and surrounding service areas

About Vesta

Vesta is a locally operated company providing home improvement, property management, and energy solutions throughout the region.

Our Home Energy division specializes in residential and commercial solar installations, battery storage, and related electrical work.

We're looking for an experienced electrician to join our team in a hands-on leadership role. Solar experience is a plus, but we're primarily looking for someone with strong electrical skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead by example.

What You'll Do

• Lead and perform electrical work on residential and commercial solar installations, within applicable licensing and supervision requirements.
• Install conduit, wiring, disconnects, breakers, inverters, electrical panels, and battery storage systems.
• Read electrical drawings, plans, and schematics.
• Coordinate daily electrical work with our installation crews.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and resolve problems in the field.
• Help organize jobsites, materials, and project activities.
• Maintain high standards for safety, workmanship, and code compliance.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and inspections as qualified and authorized.
• Train and mentor less-experienced crew members.
• Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and project managers.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Previous hands-on electrical installation experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and safe work practices.
• Ability to read plans and troubleshoot electrical problems.
• Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to take initiative and help lead a crew.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to perform physical construction work, including ladder and roof work when necessary.

Preferred, but Not Required

• Virginia Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Experience leading electricians or construction crews.
• Solar PV installation experience.
• Battery storage installation experience.
• Experience with electrical panels and service upgrades.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
• NABCEP certification.

An electrical license or previous solar experience is not required to apply. Electrical work must be performed in accordance with applicable licensing, qualification, and supervision requirements.
